Lead Teacher

Lead TeacherFull Time/Part Year (40 hours per week) at our Beloit site.  This is a hourly position at a rate of pay of $$14.79-$16.58, depending on education.  The Lead Teacher develops, plans, and implements a series of educational experiences appropriate to the growth and development of each of the three to five year-old children assigned to his/her care in a classroom setting, working toward the overall goal to promote school readiness and social competency. Working collaboratively with program staff and community representatives to meet individual child and family needs, the Lead Teacher integrates the educational aspects of all Head Start service areas into the child’s daily program.

This position requires at minimum an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.  This ability to write and speak effectively in English and Spanish is preferred.

Family Service Coordinator

Family Service Coordinator Full Time (36 hours)/Part Year (summers off) position at our Janesville site.  This is an hourly position with a rate of pay of $15.03 an hour.

The family service coordinator helps families get stabilized in the areas of shelter, food, employment, transportation and health in order to promote family engagement in support of children’ school success.  To work closely with Head Start families and appropriate staff to develop and implement a Family Service Partnership Agreement that will identify family needs and goals including school readiness goals for family engagement, then work collaboratively towards achieving family-identified goals in the areas of family well-being, positive parent-child relationships, families as lifelong educators, families as learners, engagement in children’s transitions, connections with peers and the community and family leadership and advocacy.  Provide resources/referrals to families with follow-up.  Assist families in accessing services to support them to become self-sufficient.  Advocate on behalf of families in need and provide crisis intervention as needed.  Document services provided and track assigned children/families.  Facilitate, implement and support the Parent Involvement service area by facilitating Parent Orientation, Family Nights, and Parent Center Committee Meetings including mini parent cafes.  Work closely with the education staff to provide a link between the classroom experience and home.

Required Qualifications

Floating Assistant Teacher

Floating Assistant TeacherFull Time/Part Year (30 hours per week) at any of our sites in Rock and Walworth Counties. This is an hourly position at $10.41-$11.15 an hour depending on education.  The Floating Assistant Teacher will assist all the classrooms in the region they are assigned.  They will provide support to the children as well as the Lead Teachers.  This employee will be assigned to work primarily in one service area, however, the employee will be expected to travel to other regions with little notice as needed and assigned.

This position requires an at a minimum, have a CDA credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.  Preferred education Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.  The ability to write and speak effectively in English and Spanish is preferred.

Early Head Start Floating Assistant

EHS Floating Assistant  – Full Time/Full Year 30 hours a week unless covering a case load then the hours will be 40 hours a week. Rate of pay is $14.79-16.58 depending on education.

The Floating Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Nurturer/Family Advocate will help in the development of plans and implementation of a series of educational experiences appropriate to the growth and development of each of the infant and toddler children assigned to his/her care in a classroom setting or through the home-based setting, working toward the overall goal to promote school readiness and social competency. The parent will be considered the primary teacher and family engagement will be promoted in order to increase school readiness. Working collaboratively with program staff and community representatives to meet individual child and family needs, the EHS Float integrates educational aspects of all Early Head Start service areas into the child’s daily program.
Required Qualifications 
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related Human Services field. Transcripts are required to validate educational requirements.
Requires pursuit of and obtainment of the Infant/Toddler Credential within 1 year of employment.
The employee will be assigned to work primarily in one service region, however, the employee will be expected to travel to other regions with little notice as needed and assigned.
Requires ability to attend/conduct Early Head Start job duties on and off-site.
Employee must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certificates.

Lead Transportation Driver

Lead DriverFull Time/Full Year (40 hours per week)  main office at our Beloit Center but will need to travel to any of our sites in Rock and Walworth Counties.  The Lead Transportation/Maintenance is to assist the Transportation/Maintenance Specialist driving relief routes and acting as the working first line Transportation/Maintenance Specialist’s absence, or as assigned. To transport children enrolled in Agency programs safely and promptly.  To be an integral part of the child’s educational process, portraying a positive role model for children, parents and the public.  To perform site and vehicle maintenance, deliver program supplies and equipment to individual sites and to effectively support program operations.

Rate of pay: $13.54 an hour.

Participate in and successfully pass mandated Department of Transportation random drug and alcohol tests.  Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.  Ensure that any behavioral issues do not compromise the safety of any child on the bus.  Ensure the safe transition of children between the classroom and bus.  (Following all procedures put in place to prevent a child from being left behind on the bus or in the classroom.)  Participate in all job related meetings and trainings as assigned.  Assist in the classroom between routes, as assigned.  Complete and maintain records of gas, mileage, fire drills, inspections, and other reports as required.  Complete and maintain a record of required paper work, records and documents pertaining to the safety of Head Start children.  Inform Transportation Team Leader of any situations on the route that need to be worked on.

Qualification Requirements:
 
A high school diploma or GED.  Competency in verbal and written communication skills.   Demonstrate a successful driving history.  Must be at least 21 years of age.  A valid Wisconsin Drivers’ License with at least five (5) years of driving experience.  Successfully meet Insurance Underwriters’ driving record requirements.  Successfully pass Wisconsin Day Care License Requirements including required criminal records background check.  Successfully pass a physical examination which verifies the employees is free from communicable disease and is physically able to work with children.  Ability to successfully pass mandated state and /or federal Department of Transportation physical examination.   Successfully pass Department of Transportation mandated pre-employment drug tests as mandated by State and Federal Laws.  Strength and dexterity to safely exit the school bus emergency door and lift children safely to the ground.  The ability to regularly lift 60 pounds, and on occasion 100 pounds.  Ability to work out doors during extreme cold, heat and during inclement weather.  Possess a valid Wisconsin CDL (Commercial Drivers’ License) with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements or the ability to obtain endorsements within two weeks (ten training days) of hire. (Agency may provide training)   Valid certification in infant, child, and adult CPR and basic first.  (Agency may provide training)  Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to any / all sites on short notice.    Ability to effectively supervise, motivate and efficiently accomplish program objectives / tasks through others, as assigned.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  
Experience in vehicle maintenance.  Experience in building and grounds maintenance.  Training in first aid, defensive driving, safety and child development.  One (1) year experience with pupil or public transportation.  Experience working with low-income families.  Experience in team work.  Bilingual skills, especially Spanish.  Experience working with young children.  One year supervisory experience.  Two year degree or experience with traffic safety and / or supervision with pupil transportation and Federal / State Commercial Motor Vehicle Regulations

The Maintenance Engineer responds to the maintenance and repair issues and the daily cleaning of the all assigned facilities along with the upkeep and repairs to equipment and appliances.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and supplies as assigned.
• Maintain grounds (sidewalk and lawn care). 
Assist in maintaining inventory and recommending purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in assigned buildings.
• Maintain a consistent schedule with custodial duties as assigned.
• Maintain storage areas as directed.
• Participate in required training on State Child Care Licensing and  Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for child care centers and facilities
• Maintain Material Data Safety sheets. 
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must meet Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Administrative code DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Group Daycare Centers requirements for health report and criminal background check.
• Prior training and work experience in the area of facility maintenance and janitorial duties.
• Have general knowledge of the principles of plumbing, heating, electricity, and building and grounds maintenance.
• The ability to perform minor carpentry work.
• Must be conscientious and capable of working alone with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, supplies and floor care.
• Familiar with custodial operations and basic maintenance procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance as required by state law.  
• Good driving record with no traffic violations preceding five years from hire.
• Dependable transportation (duties will require traveling to different site locations). 
• Ability to work a flex schedule with some required “call in” and weekend work hours. 
• Must meet Wisconsin Administrative code DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Group Daycare Centers requirements for health report and criminal background check.
• Ability to obtain and retain a Commercial Driver’s License with a school bus endorsement.

 Substitute Teacher

Substitute TeacherPart Time/Part Year (Hours vary per week) at any of our sites in Rock and Walworth Counties.  This is an hourly position at $9.40-10.06 an hour depending on education.  The substitute teacher will work collaboratively with other site and classroom staff to provide educational experiences appropriate to the growth and development of each of the 3-5 year old children assigned to his/her care or 0-2 year old children assigned to his/her care.  This position requires the ability to stand, sit go up and down stairs, ride a bus, use fine motor skills among others.  This position also requires a minimum of a state approved Early Childhood course.  Associates Degree in Early Childhood is preferred.  The ability to write and speak in English and Spanish is preferred.
