Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome Parent Volunteers

Parents are a child’s most important and primary teacher and we invite parents to partner with Head Start/EHS to promote the best educational opportunities possible.

Parents are encouraged to visit classrooms, do at-home projects given by HS teachers and Home Visitors at EHS home visits. Parent events opportunities for volunteering include EHS Socializations-playgroups, Parent Center Meetings, Family Nights and the many related committees for involvement and input.

Community Volunteers

Community volunteers includes our Board of Directors, Advisory Committee, Policy Council (parents), as well as guest speakers, advisors, trainers and a variety of Public School staff who bring services to children in our HS/EHS classrooms.

Scheduled Volunteers

Students and assigned community volunteers are people within the community that are scheduled for a certain number of hours to complete an educational or vocational assignment. Volunteers that work directly with HS/EHS children in classrooms or home base settings must complete the State of Wisconsin Child Care Licensing required paperwork including a background check and obtaining a physical and TB skin test.

Occasional Volunteers

The occasional volunteer may visit the classroom as a “one time” or occasional guest. This includes librarians, firemen, policeman and other community volunteers who bring services into the classroom and work with the children as a group.
