Who Can Apply
- Families living in Rock or Walworth County
- Families living on limited incomes (we are required to follow the Federal Poverty Guidelines)
- Foster children & families receiving Kinship Care
- Families who receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) or W2 Cash Assistance)
Head Start programs may enroll up to 10% of children from families that have incomes above the Poverty Guidelines. Programs may also serve p to an additional 35 percent of children from families whose incomes are above the poverty Guidelines, but below 130% of the poverty line if the program can ensure that certain conditions have been met.

Cost
Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs and therefore are provided to families at no cost, with the exception of childcare wraparound through our community partners.

HEAD START
Head Start works to ensure that the children we serve have a solid start on life through:

- Educational activities, healthy meals & indoor/outdoor play.
- Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.
- 4K programming is offered in Beloit, Janesville & Delavan.
- Family involvement opportunities including events for dads.
- Our goal is for your child to leave Head Start more prepared for kindergarten and excited about learning.
WHO CAN APPLY

- Families residing in Rock or Walworth County with a child ages 3-5 years. Children must be 3 by Sept. 1.
- Families must be income eligible. (Verification of income is required)
EARLY HEAD START
A program that supports pregnant women and their families during the infant and toddler stages of development through:

- Educational activities healthy meals & indoor/outdoor play.
- Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.
- Family involvement opportunities including events for dads.
- Family and individual goal setting.
- Weekly home visits and twice a month play groups for families enrolled in the Home Base Program.
- Collaborative child care services provided in Janesville & Beloit. (There is a cost for child care through the collaborative partner. Families may self-pay or apply for child care assistance through the county.)
- Year round programming.
WHO CAN APPLY?

- Families residing in Rock or Walworth County
- Pregnant women/families with children ages birth -3.
- Family income must be at or below the Federal Poverty Guideline though some exceptions may be made for families moderately over these amounts. These income guidelines can be waived for families with special circumstances who might benefit from placement in Head Start.
